We are looking for a talented IT Systems Administrator to join our growing Managed Services team based in Milton, GA.  You would be part of a dedicated team that supports our managed services clients with their remote offices and employees spread across the world.  The IT Systems Administrator role is the second line of support for all helpdesk requests and works on primarily project related activities.  We support all of our clients’ information technology ranging from end user applications/infrastructure to cutting edge compute and storage systems in the datacenter.

With the wide range of technologies that we support for our customers, the successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tickets and projects and be able to prioritize appropriately.  This position has a high potential for growth within the company and we are looking for applicants with a desire to grow with us.

50% of the time in this position will be dedicated to providing elevated support on helpdesk tickets, 25% of the time providing proactive System Administrator support, and the remaining 25% of time being focused on technical training and/or assisting Solutions Experts with their assigned projects.

Job Description

  • The ideal candidate will reside in, or close to, Milton/Alpharetta and have prior helpdesk and/or MSP experience
  • Perform Helpdesk and IT System Administration duties for a wide range of customer industries
  • Conduct scheduled system checks and perform maintenance in accordance with the scheduled support windows
  • Learn and adhere to applicable data privacy practices and follow SOC 2/ITSM policies & procedures
  • Enter, manage, and update IT support tickets within AutoTask/Datto.
    • Record the problem symptoms, provide and document resolution for hardware and software helpdesk requests and support root cause analysis
    • Ownership to track status of all tickets, including those elevated to higher level support, through resolution with follow-up with end-user
  • Willingness, once proficient in tasks/systems, to provide after-hours emergency support on a rotating basis
  • Take initiative to become further educated in relevant systems administration, information technology, and emerging trends

  • Monitor and maintain Windows Server operating system and additional server components including and not limited to Exchange, Active Directory, and SQL Server
  • Maintain versioning and utilize/adhere to change management controls/tools
  • Develop tools and processes to automate tasks as needed
  • Perform patching to major subsystems and services, roles, and filesystem components and perform OS and patch testing on all changes prior to deployment
  • VMware administration support & management
  • Veeam administration support & management

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, Exchange Server, & Windows Applications
  • Basic PowerShell & WMI experience
  • Proven experience and success managing a Windows Active Directory ecosystem
    • AD deployments for 2016 and 2019 functional levels
    • AD upgrades from 2000, 2003, 2008, & 2012 up to the 2016 & 2019 functional levels
    • AD sites and replication topology
    • Knowledge on DNS, DNS Query, & Zone Transfer
    • Experience on AD migration through ADMS, ADMT & Quest, Binary tree
    • Hands on experience on various AD tools

Education and Soft Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree and/or relevant work experience
  • 5 years or more experience providing end-user support and infrastructure systems management
  • Microsoft Office – Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10, Office Suite and Office365
  • Organization skills are a must as you will have to handle multiple tickets at once

  • Ability to accept and follow guidance/mentoring
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

Work Environment

  • 40-hour onsite work week (8am-5pm or 9am-6pm)
  • Must be available to work flexible hours as needed (emergency on-call)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
